  • Client: North Kesteven Council

Services used

Safecontrol were successfully awarded the contract for installing security systems at the new waste and recycling depot for North Kesteven District Council. The new depot is located on the Moorlands Trading Estate in Metheringham. Due to increased demand on waste services and the number of new houses set to be built in the district, the Council moved forward with the purpose built facility.

Safecontrol provided a comprehensive Paxton Net2 access control and Videx intercom systems. The access control system was bespoken to the client’s specific needs. The barriers were programmed to open and close at specific times for ease of movement of refuse vehicles. Key pads and fob readers were installed on the posts at the barrier locations for staff access with a Videx intercom for visitors. These systems were linked to the gate automation system.

Safecontrol provided a full design and build scheme of the CCTV system at the site. The scope of works was to provide a comprehensive CCTV system covering the entire yard, lorry park, fuel tanks, generator and car park. 4K Ultra HD cameras were installed, which provide high quality images in both day light and low light levels. Motion detection sensors were installed on the fence line to detect intruders. Once intruders are detected, strategically placed PTZ cameras are triggered to view the intruders. Upon activation these cameras auto track the intruders, following their movements around the site. The motion detectors also trigger a remote monitoring station, which automatically calls the Police and assigned members of staff.
