Safecontrol has recently upgraded the structured cabling system at Wienerberger's Denton site. Category 5e cabling was installed within the factory area to provide connectivity for new machinery. FTP cabling was specified due to its shielding properties. The foil shielding of FTP acts as a barrier to protect from external threats, namely the electrical interference produced by the machinery. It also prevents cable signals from interfering with the surrounding cables and equipement. This greatly increases the reliability of the network in an industrial setting.
