The 31st of January 2014 saw the opening of the new £1.4 million Business and Digital Hub, and the conclusion of a four year regeneration programme for Freeman Street Market. The latest redevelopment of the 140 year old market has seen a formerly redundant area of the market revitalised into a modern state of the art business hub. The 1000 square meter site encompasses reception facilities, conference suites, two workshops, thirteen self contained office spaces, seminar room and break out space. It is hoped that the regeneration will create a renewed energy for the area and improve the general image of Freeman Street as a whole.
The scope of works provided by Safecontrol included Category 6 structured cabling throughout the development. The system allowed for individual IT and Wi-Fi networks within each individual office space and for the provision of VoIP telephony. In addition to this a TV distribution system was installed throughout the office space. A comprehensive access control and CCTV systems were installed throughout for added security.
