Safecontrol successfully tendered for structured cabling infrastructure for the new Performing Arts Building. The new £6 million centre is located at the Nuns Corner Campus in Grimsby. As part of the project the existing C Block has been fully refurbished and modernised and a 1,600 ft extension built on a redundant car park to accommodate the new facilities. The Institute now boasts state of the art theatre, studio and dance studio. The building will be used by around 200 students every year. Claire Foster, Head of Arts and Media at Grimsby Institute said "it will ensure students will train in 21st Century surroundings".

The scope of works comprised of a fully structured Category 6 cabling installation to allow for voice and data connectivity throughout the new Centre. Approximately 500 Category 6 outlets were installed to provide for not only voice and data, but for WiFi, BMS communications, door access control, fire alarm and intruder alarm. New network cabinets were installed on each floor and were connected by an OM3 fibre optic back bone cabling. A total of eight cabinets were installed over the four floors. Safecontrol worked closely with other contractors to ensure that each phase was completed on time.
